Compensation: Level 3: $55,000 to $70,000 CAD  + benefits

Your Work Makes an Impact

The Art Director will be leading a portfolio of non-profits to meet their fundraising, marketing and advocacy goals. Your role will assist non-profits so they can focus on the impactful work they do, while you make sure their messages are broadcast into the right audiences and leave impact and influence. 

As a Grassriots Art Director you will be reporting to the Creative Lead as you design projects and campaigns for a portfolio of non-profits to meet their fundraising, marketing and advocacy goals. You will have an understanding of campaigns, strategies and creative vision to support design creation. Your role will be to bring client and Grassriots campaign strategies and creative concepts to life so clients can focus on the impactful work they do.

The Role of Art Director

  • Assist Creative Lead on the development and production of all creative assets
  • Produce concept ideas, graphic design, motion design/animation using Adobe Creative Suite, illustrator and typography design
  • Support with the creation of documents and presentations deck for the clients
  • Work with project managers to create timelines for each specific project
  • Update Grassriots website and social media 
  • Produce creative assets taking into account timelines and priorities 
  • Pitch creative ideas
  • Support the creation and resizing of ads for different platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google and other platforms)
  • Support the creative team during the entire campaign with a focus on execution and production of creative assets
  • Provide weekly accurate time tracking
  • Understand client branding guidelines in order to apply brand colours, logo and standards appropriately
  • Applying  accessibility guidelines into all design work, offering best in class solutions
  • Participating as a member of the Grassriots team contributing to the overall success of Grassriots 

Success as an Art Director

  • Capable of creating web content ideas taking into account accessibility guidelines
  • Bring creative concepts to life with multiple different art directions 
  • Produce impactful, beautiful, cutting edge creative for our clients campaign 
  • Provide creative solutions
  • Understand the goals that need to be met (ie. revenue, followers, engagement, petition signing, etc) 
  • Support the establishment of Grassriots as the leader in digital spaces 
  • Work within the scoped hours and following communication flow when adjustments need to be made 
  • Meet deadlines 
  • Clear expectation setting and high communication with clients and coworkers 
  • Produce work that you and Grassriots can be proud of
